Oregon Environmental Council

Oregon Environmental Council advances innovative, collaborative and equitable solutions to Oregon’s environmental challenges for today and future generations.

Founded in 1968, Oregon Environmental Council is a nonprofit, non-partisan, membership-based organization. We protect the health of every Oregonian and the place we call home by working for clean air and water, a healthy climate, and an unpolluted landscape.

Sierra Club, Massachuetts Chapter

With more than 23,000 members, the Massachusetts Chapter of The Sierra Club is currently organized into a set of geographic groups and special interest ad hoc committees. Attending the meetings of a local group or an interesting committee is a great way to get more involved! Everyone is welcome.

The Evanston Ecology Center serves as a focal point for environmental education and volunteerism in Evanston and the surrounding community. We offer educational programs that foster a greater appreciation, awareness and knowledge of the environment.

Offerings include natural history classes in areas such as plant identification and animal study, summer camps that engage kids in environmentally focused outdoor activities, community gardening and our sustainable Tiny House.

Some of our other initiatives:

"The Big Blue & You" is a non-profit organization in South Florida that provides a GLOBAL PLATFORM for our young generation to CREATIVELY EXPRESS their passion for the ocean and help find solutions that will aid our precious oceans' survival.

We're dedicated to inspiring and educating youth about OCEAN conservation thru ARTS and MEDIA. We believe YOUTH are the leaders of TODAY.

We also organize the ARTSEA festival every year in Miami to increase awareness of the current state of the environment and to inspire youth to go for their dreams.

The Denver Permaculture Guild is a membership-based nonprofit working to build a more just, resilient, and ecologically robust city. We provide permaculture classes, advocate for a regenerative Denver, and foster the development of sustainable businesses and interdependent, hyper-local communities.

Permaculture is the quest for a permanent human culture, one not in debt to non-renewable resources and constant growth. Every action of our guild therefore strives to establish stable and regenerative human habitats that enrich and heal the greater environment.

Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) connects the general public with stewardship projects in trail construction and maintenance, invasive species management, habitat restoration, gardening and planting, forestry management, flood and fire restoration, and more. Every year, we rely on thousands of people just like you to provide a volunteer workforce for essential environmental projects.

  • At the San Diego Chapter of the U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce, our mission is to empower businesses and communities towards long-term prosperity through economic, environmental and social sustainability.
  • We provide networking opportunities, offer education in sustainability and social responsibility, advocate for sustainable business policy, and are a resource for those seeking to be more sustainable.

EcoRise inspires a new generation of leaders to design a sustainable future.

We offer academically-aligned sustainability and design-innovation curricula for elementary, middle, and high school teachers. Because our materials are customizable to fit within—and enhance—existing scope and sequences, teachers are able to easily integrate EcoRise lessons without sacrificing important material assessed on standardized tests.

Slow Food Austin reconnects people with the food they eat. Our educational initiatives, social activities, fundraising events, and community volunteer projects inspire respect for where food comes from and awakens true pleasure in eating.

OUR SLOW SESSIONS are fun and engaging classes offered to help Austinites learn about biodiversity in the food supply, local food producers, and how they can make their own food locally.

OUR HAPPY HOURS let us meet together for community in and exposure to sustainable or veggie restaurants.
