RAFT Colorado, a Green Resource for Teachers
Just about anything destined for the garbage or recycle bin can be transformed into the basis for a learning activity. That’s why RAFT Colorado (Resource Area for Teaching - Colorado) gathers unwanted items from local businesses and the community and upcycles them into interesting and unique learning activities for the classroom.
DONATE MATERIALS
We’re looking for large quantities of the same types of materials, although there are exceptions. Please visit our page for a list of our most in-demand items, which include desk supplies, art supplies, hardware, electronics, packing materials and party supplies.
But please contact us ahead of time to make sure we’ll be able to use what you bring: http://www.raftcolorado.org/material-donations.
Last year, we diverted almost 30,000 cubic feet of waste from Colorado landfills!
DONATE TIME
Since RAFT Colorado opened in 2009, volunteers have donated over 300,000 hours of their time to support education AND the environment!
We have a variety of projects available for individual volunteers, including sorting donated materials and creating learning kits.
