The Multnomah County Office of Sustainability
The Multnomah County Office of Sustainability was established in 2010 to help plan, implement and coordinate the County’s environmental Sustainability Program.
Since that time, the Office of Sustainability has worked with the community and County departments to develop unique partnerships that help make Multnomah County a better place to live, work, and do business.
The Office of Sustainability is not only committed to a healthy planet, but also firmly roots our work in Multnomah County's mission to protect the most vulnerable in our community. This mission shapes the way we approach sustainability, an approach based on achieving social, economic, and environmental justice.
We envision a Multnomah County that is:
Equitable
Livable
Healthy
Resilient
Low-Carbon
Key efforts include:
Co-developing, and leading the implementation of, the Multnomah County & City of Portland 2015 Climate Action Plan Climate Action Plan (7.01 MB) Climate Change Preparation Strategy (2.43 MB)
Making fresh, organically-grown produce available to hungry families through the County CROPS farm
Implementing PropertyFit Oregon, a program designed to make it easier for commercial building owners to invest in renewable energy and energy efficiency
