We need a San Diego Green New Deal!

Our region is not on track to meet climate targets that represent the minimum action needed to secure a safe and livable future.

Recent climate science reports, including the landmark United Nations IPCC Report, say we need to go beyond what local and state laws commit us to — we need a plan to reach net-zero emissions.

In 2019, we convened a wide cross section of activists, community leaders, thought leaders, organizations, and representatives from elected offices to help shape the vision for the San Diego Green New Deal and chart the path forward with strategies and a work plan.

Our Work plan Identified Three Working Groups:

1) JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion)
2) Transforming Political Power
3) Building Awareness and Support
