The South Florida Water Management District is a regional governmental agency responsible for managing and protecting water resources of South Florida by balancing and improving FLOOD CONTROL, WATER SUPPLY, WATER QUALITY and NATURAL SYSTEMS.

Our key initiative is restoration of the Everglades – the largest environmental restoration project in the nation's history.

We provide South Florida Water Information as well as guides on South Florida's Natural Areas. Residents and visitors alike are invited to contribute in some way to protecting South Florida's water resources.

South Florida Water Management District includes: Broward, Collier, Glades, Hendry, Lee, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Palm Beach and St. Lucie counties, as well as portions of Charlotte, Highlands, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola and Polk counties
