The Park People – Get Involved with Greening Denver
The Park People is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works to preserve, enhance, and advocate for Denver’s parks, recreation resources, open space, and urban forest.
We've raised millions of dollars to restore historical park buildings and fountains. We’ve helped to build new playgrounds and recreation facilities. Our projects can be found throughout the city.
And we offer four exciting programs that invite Denverites to support quality of life in our city by planting trees.
DENVER DIGS TREES provides medium- and large-sized shade trees for planting within the City of Denver. All Denver residents, businesses, nonprofit organizations and schools are eligible to apply.
MILE HIGH TREE CHAMPIONS are companies that invest a small amount of funding and some good old sweat equity to help enhance Denver's urban tree canopy. Participants walk away knowing they have had a direct impact on their local environment and feeling empowered by a unique day of team building with their coworkers.
COMMUNITY FORESTERS lead and participate in tree planting and care projects for The Park People, the Denver Forestry Office, the Be A Smart Ash campaign, and their own neighborhoods.
THE PARK LEGACY PROGRAM plants tribute trees in Denver parks. We accept requests throughout the year.
