Activism

We are mothers, grandmothers, and other caregivers who can no longer be silent and still about the very real danger that climate change poses to our children’s and grandchildren’s future.

We build our movement person-to-person at house parties, in coffee houses, on playgrounds, at schools, in places of worship, and in front of our state houses.

We form teams to lead campaigns in our towns and cities. Each local team works with its community to switch to renewable energy and say no to fossil fuels.

At The Environmental Group, we create discussion and on-the-ground action for a livable Colorado, and we work with environmentally-minded citizens and groups statewide to preserve this magnificent state.

ABOUT

TEG is a longtime proponent of environmental preservation and conservation. As such, we have established working relationships with public officials and nearby conservation groups, as well as cultivated a respected, leadership-role in the community with regard to environmental issues.

San Diego Climate Action Network

The San Diego Climate Action Network is a non-profit organization focused on strengthening and accelerating climate advocacy in San Diego County, California.

Our non-partisan network facilitates resource sharing, focusing on coalition building and public relations, in order to amplify the efforts of our member organizations.

Recognizing each San Diego climate advocacy group’s unique contributions, we seek to discover ideal working practices between groups, as well as any vital solutions that may be currently unfulfilled by existing efforts.

Poder (People Organizing in Defense of the Earth and her Resources) brings East Texas communities of color together for decision-making and influence on pollution issues and economic development in our neighborhoods.

~ WHY PODER ~

As we look into our own backyard, we see a power plant, fuel storage tank farms, refineries, lumber companies, and most recently, high tech industries which emit their pollutants into the air we breath and the water we drink. That's why we're uniting to stand up for justice, our health, and our environment.

What kind of world do you want to live in?

We want to live in URBAN PARADISE. There’s been a lot of damage done, so it will take work and creativity.

The mission of the Urban Paradise Guild is to re-create native habitats in the urban areas of Miami-Dade County, and to promote sustainable models for healthy living that safeguard, enhance and integrate the human and natural worlds.

Urban gardening and fruit trees are examples of the plant habitats that sustain humans. We do this too, because how can a place be Urban Paradise without great fruits & vegetables?

San Diego Coastkeeper offers twice-monthly volunteer opportunities through our community beach cleanup program.

We believe a strategic combination of science, advocacy, education, and community engagement is the most effective way to address existing and emerging water-related issues.
