Urban Agriculture

Are you interested in plants, sustainability, agriculture and the future of our food system? San Diego City College's sustainable urban agriculture program may be for you!

The agriculture program at City College offers students a unique learning experience unlike any other in Southern California. All agriculture classes combine hands-on experience on our 1-acre urban farm, Seeds@City, with classroom learning.

At Urban Patchwork, we work with thousands of neighbors throughout Austin to map edible trees and turn under-utilized private and public space into productive urban gardens and farms, educational spaces, and activity centers.

Through this, we strengthen and beautify our communities, expand our food system’s reach, and reduce the environmental impact of landscaping and agriculture.

Our two missions:

1. We take unused plots of land in the urban Miami area and turn them into neighborhood farms, creating community hubs centered around food and friendship.

Our current farm is located at the Marian Center in Miami Gardens. We grow a wide variety of vegetables on 2 acres, and are Certified Organic. We grow all of our produce using sustainable standards.

Bee Heaven Farm in Redland, Florida, provides fresh LOCAL and ORGANIC produce to Southeast Florida via its CSA program and farmers market sales.

We grow a wide assortment of vegetables, herbs and edible flowers.Browse through our land to see how we grow for you!

(Participants in CSA pay in advance before the start of the season for a share of the farm’s harvest. In turn, they receive a portion of farm products each week (or biweekly) throughout the growing season.)

~ WE WANT TO HELP YOU GROW FOOD ~

As passionate believers in the health benefits of home-based food growing for our bodies, the environment and our local economy, half of our work is devoted to helping our neighbors grow their own food.

Rockwood Urban Farm

Rockwood Urban Farm is a highly productive, small scale, community supported endeavor located in east Portland.

We grow vegetables and flowers using organic methods and our intentions for a well fed and well loved community.

We strive to be part of the solution; to be endless seekers of earth lessons and to apply efficiency and beauty in the ever evolving art of being agrarians. Our farm is a place of discovery as we learn what really matters and what we are capable of.
