The Shield-Ayres Foundation supports central Texas organizations for the environment

The Shield-Ayres Foundation is a central Texas foundation that is deeply committed to the preservation of the natural world and to the conservation of the lands and waters on which all life depends. We strengthen organizations that effectively meet the basic human needs of the most vulnerable members of our community, provide access to educational opportunities and the arts, advocate for social justice, and promote land and water conservation.

Keenly aware of the impact of growth and development on our central Texas environment, we support programs that focus on the following areas:

• Land and water conservation
• Endangered species protection
• Environmental education
• Access to natural spaces
• Advocacy for public policy initiatives to support environmental stewardship

After reviewing the Foundation's mission, funding priorities, and guidelines, if you are confident that your organization/program is a clear and demonstrable match with these priorities, you may complete and submit a Letter of Inquiry, the first step in requesting funding from the Foundation.
