San Diego Urban Sustainability Coalition****promoting Sustainability and Opportunity in Communities of Concern

SDUSC was created to address Southeast San Diego’s lack of representation in important discussions of sustainability, as well as to enhance local opportunities to enter the green job economy.

Today, we exist to bring together communities of concern, stakeholders and like-minded organizations through grassroots organizing to inform processes and policy, to improve the quality of life and to increase opportunities for residents of Southeast San Diego and other resilient communities.

Current Goals
Encourage personal responsibility as well as civic engagement
Identify resources to make tools of sustainability accessible to ALL
Introduce sustainability and its benefits to communities of concern
Engage communities of concern in sustainable practices
Provide technical expertise as-needed

Our Climate Ambassadors Program
We work at local and regional levels to create, engage, and support environmental stewards from communities disproportionately impacted by climate change.
