Oregon Environmental Council

Oregon Environmental Council advances innovative, collaborative and equitable solutions to Oregon’s environmental challenges for today and future generations.

Founded in 1968, Oregon Environmental Council is a nonprofit, non-partisan, membership-based organization. We protect the health of every Oregonian and the place we call home by working for clean air and water, a healthy climate, and an unpolluted landscape.

The Evanston Ecology Center serves as a focal point for environmental education and volunteerism in Evanston and the surrounding community. We offer educational programs that foster a greater appreciation, awareness and knowledge of the environment.

Offerings include natural history classes in areas such as plant identification and animal study, summer camps that engage kids in environmentally focused outdoor activities, community gardening and our sustainable Tiny House.

Some of our other initiatives:

ChicagoVeg is a nonprofit organization that supports all vegetarians/vegans and educates the public on the advantages of a plant-based diet. We regularly meet in the city and suburbs for dining, picnics, lectures, movies, local expos, and other events.

Join us for delicious meals and conscious living. Share your favorite recipes, discuss living a healthy and compassionate lifestyle, support the green movement, and make new friends.

Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) connects the general public with stewardship projects in trail construction and maintenance, invasive species management, habitat restoration, gardening and planting, forestry management, flood and fire restoration, and more. At The Energy Resource Center, we help families make their homes energy efficient, thereby reducing monthly energy use, its cost and its toll on the environment. Our services include energy efficiency audits and weatherization upgrades such as window repair, duct insulation and HVAC (heating, ventilating and air-conditioning) work.

further, if you qualify for the Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) or Supplemental Security Income, you automatically qualify for free assistance from The Energy Resource Center. Visit our site for more qualification details.

SDHC is one of only a few nonprofit habitat managers working with developers, municipalities, and agencies throughout the region to strike a critical balance between development and the protection of our valuable habitat.

Our mission is to conserve and manage sensitive habitats and species while inspiring land stewardship through education and outreach.

Slow Food Austin reconnects people with the food they eat. Our educational initiatives, social activities, fundraising events, and community volunteer projects inspire respect for where food comes from and awakens true pleasure in eating.

OUR SLOW SESSIONS are fun and engaging classes offered to help Austinites learn about biodiversity in the food supply, local food producers, and how they can make their own food locally.

OUR HAPPY HOURS let us meet together for community in and exposure to sustainable or veggie restaurants.

We at Austin Area Electric Vehicle Association are a group of people who gather to discuss electric vehicles, their construction, the technologies that make them work, and how we can further their continued re-introduction into central Texas. Please come to our meetings and see what we are all about.

We host the EV Tradin' Post Electric Vehicle Classified Ads, the web's best place to buy or sell an electric car: http://www.evtradinpost.com/

Several of us own EVs or have conversions in progress.
