The Good Traveler - San Diego-based carbon offsets
The Good Traveler was founded in 2015 by San Diego International Airport. The idea was simple: offer travelers a quick and easy way to make their air travel more sustainable.
San Diego International Airport wanted The Good Traveler to be different from other offset providers: easy to understand, straightforward to use, and, especially, rooted in the local community. The Airport collaborated with local retailers and attractions to offer offsets from The Good Traveler throughout San Diego.
Now we're expanding. In 2016, The Good Traveler selected the nonprofit Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) to manage operations and offer the program to airports throughout the United States.

We use your contributions to pay for carbon offsets, which are projects that are certified to offset the impact of air or road travel by keeping greenhouse gases out of the atmosphere, while doing some extra good like restoring wetlands or growing forests.
For example, a single $2 purchase offsets the carbon you release in 1,000 miles of flying or 400 miles of driving—that's equivalent to about 344 lbs. of carbon dioxide.
Please check our website for offset options and to see some of the many green projects we fund.
