Cash Back on Purchases from Green Businesses

Conscious consumption has received a new boost. Purchases made through debit cards issued by Aspiration, an online financial concern, can bring bundles of green benefits.

Notably, the cards will refund you up to 10% on purchases made from a growing group of eco-conscious businesses that Aspiration calls its "Conscience Coalition." Shopping categories include Health & Beauty, Food, Apparel & Accessories and Home & Lifestyle.

But that's just the beginning. As financial watchdog Nerd Wallet noted in its review, Aspiration offers "the option to plant a tree with every debit card transaction, a personal impact score that measures the social and environmental effects of your shopping habits, carbon offsets for driving your car and the promise that your deposits won’t fund fossil fuel exploration or production."

Aspiration also supports advanced carbon-removal technologies and financing, biodiversity protection, forest conservation and more.
