Tecolote Farm - Organic Community Supported Agriculture, Serving Austin Over 20 Years
Certified organic in 1994, Tecolote Farm has been bringing delicious, fresh vegetables to Austinites for over 20 years, making us one of the area’s original organic pioneers. We grow over 150 vegetable varieties from all over the world, including heirlooms as well as modern hybrids, and we offer our produce to families through our community supported agriculture program.
COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE (CSA)
Members pay in advance for a share of an upcoming harvest, then receive high-quality local produce directly from our fertile and certified organic fields. This direct farm-to-plate relationship is beneficial for the eater because of the freshness and flavors inherent when eating farm-fresh produce. CSAs help farmers because members invest in the upcoming season’s crops at a time when costs are high and income is low.
Starting with 16 members in 1994, our CSA is the first and longest-running veggie delivery service in the region. We're going strong all these years later with subscriptions serving over 300 families.
ABOUT THE FARM
Ours is a small family farm located on the rich soils of the Blackland Prairie thirteen miles east of downtown Austin. Since 2010, we have also grown on a 20 acre parcel in Bastrop County along the Colorado River.
