Radical Root Farm - organic foods, earth-friendly CSA, education, tours and more

Nestled among restored prairie land and forest preserves, Radical Root Farm grows certified-organic vegetables and raises happy, pastured animals in order to provide nutrient-rich food to Chicagoland. Check out our CSA and farm stands in Libertyville and Logan Square, Chicago.

CSA

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a fun, economical way to buy vegetables and eggs. Members receive a nutritious, delicious box of vegetables every week (biweekly shares also available).

We harvest our fresh vegetables every week to ensure optimal nutrition. Members can add on egg shares, fruit shares, and bread & butter shares.

FARM STANDS

From May through December, our farm stands welcome shoppers.
• Thursdays & Fridays (3-7pm) & Saturdays (8am-1pm) at our on-site farm stand (Libertyville, IL)
• Sundays (10am - 3pm) at Chicago's Logan Square Farmer's market

We also offer:
*Tours of our farm that teach about ecological farming, permaculture, the holistic care of bees, pasturing animals in a rotation system for optimal soil, plant and farm health.
*Classes on food preservation, herbalism, traditional food nutrition and healthy cooking.

We are currently implementing several permaculture projects, including establishing a food forest, a moveable chicken system, and an apiary to encourage healthy bees.
