At People's Food Co-op, we cultivate strong relationships with the food we eat, the people who produce it, and the friends we share it with. We prioritize organic products, with pet food the only exception to our 100% vegetarian policy.
We strive to buy directly from farmers and food producers, and believe that these healthy connections fortify our local economy. We are committed to safe and sustainable growing and manufacturing practices and work to minimize our impact on the earth.
Being a cooperative means People’s is owned by the people who shop at the store, and that we focus first on serving the needs of our community.
Our Farmers’ Market is the longest running year-round market in Portland, happening every Wednesday from 2-7pm at the co-op.
Since 1994, our market has been offering customers high quality, locally grown produce, fresh from the field and free of chemical fertilizers, insecticides, and pesticides. Our farmers’ market also offers a variety of handmade, artisan foods, made using organic, local, and ethically sourced ingredients.
People’s Farmers’ Market is more than just a food market. It is a community gathering space where people come to enjoy live music, educational events and cooking demos, learn more about community organizations, and spend time with their friends & neighbors.
