Green Organizations

As respected professionals, doctors and nurses have a crucial part to play in raising awareness about the health and healthcare implications of climate change. To facilitate the medical community's efforts, The Medical Society Consortium on Climate & Health brings together associations representing some 500,000 clinical practictioners to carry three messages:

Our mission at Project Angel Heart is to deliver nutritious meals, at no cost, to those coping with life-threatening illnesses. Please help us supplement the produce we grow by donating your extra veggies or planting a special row, or by joining as a sustainability volunteer.

We seek freshly picked, pesticide-free tomatoes, zucchinis, yellow squashes, and greens such as chard, kale, collards, and mustard greens.

Denver Green Forum puts together discussions about the future of sustainability in Colorado. Our main event is a quarterly sustainability panel empowering attendees with insights from our state’s foremost green-thought leaders and innovators.

As an attendee, you’ll be given unprecedented, direct access to high-level members of Colorado’s sustainability leadership as they discuss what has helped them excel in conservation and waste-reduction methods.

Donate Don't Dump is a teen run non-profit determined to stop commercial food waste, promote good nutrition, and public health.

We encourage grocery stores, growers, and food companies to donate their surplus food, not dump it. We engage, empower, and inspire youth to promote public health initiatives to build healthier communities.

Our mission is to rescue surplus food, help the hungry, and promote public health through education and peer-to-peer advocacy.

The Shield-Ayres Foundation is a central Texas foundation that is deeply committed to the preservation of the natural world and to the conservation of the lands and waters on which all life depends.

We strengthen organizations that effectively meet the basic human needs of the most vulnerable members of our community, provide access to educational opportunities and the arts, advocate for social justice, and promote land and water conservation.

Austin Youth River Watch is a multi-year, after-school and summer program for high school students that combines peer mentoring with intensive environmental education. It's a safe place to grow and gain confidence while learning to be active stewards of our planet.

~ What do River Watchers do? ~

Our student participants, River Watchers, start out by learning the basics of water-quality monitoring. They learn from their fellow students, visiting scientists, and our staff of professional educators.
