The Massachusetts Climate Action Network

The Massachusetts Climate Action Network (MCAN), a 501(c)3 non-profit, fights the climate crisis one town at a time, with the help of local MCAN chapters – and you!

We strive to protect the climate through community action in order to ensure a healthy and equitable future for all by replacing fossil fuels with clean, renewable, and sustainable energy through decarbonization and electrification.

Municipalities have been the most active level of government to fight climate change on a worldwide basis. MCAN has a significant role as a facilitator of local-level action to dramatically accelerate the replacement of fossil fuel by decarbonization and electrification of buildings.

MCAN empowers our local groups by enhancing communication, promoting and reducing development time for town-level projects that improve communities and decrease climate change-causing pollution.

We advance our mission with education, training, research, policy, and advocacy while supporting our statewide network of local groups in these areas.
