Fancy

About the Business

Fancy is a sustainable jewelry studio and retail shop located in the Madison Valley neighborhood of Seattle, WA. Founded by artist Sally Brock in 2002, the boutique specializes in creating modern heirlooms with a vintage aesthetic, offering a curated selection of handmade pieces that are available to shop both in-store and nationwide via their online store. In addition to their in-house line, Fancy showcases work from over a dozen women artists and makers, fostering a supportive community of local craftswomen.

Sustainability

Fancy pioneered sustainable jewelry in the Pacific Northwest and continues to operate with a deep commitment to ethical production.

  • Recycled Materials: All in-house jewelry is crafted from 100% recycled precious metals, including gold and silver, to eliminate the environmental impact of mining.
  • Ethical Sourcing: Diamonds are Kimberley Process verified to ensure they are conflict-free, and all gemstones are ethically sourced.
  • Zero-Waste Production: The studio operates on a made-to-order model to prevent overproduction, and all metal scraps are melted down and reused or recycled.
  • Community Support: The business actively donates to social and environmental causes, including the Sierra Club, Real Rent Duwamish, and Everytown for Gun Safety.
